Tributes to Leonard Nimoy from both Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous

Most of us are however reeling from the passing of the famous and wonderful Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy. He has been remembered and honored both past developers and players akin over the by days, even existence honored in game universe's he had nothing to practice such equally World Of Warcraft. And by the looks of things Star Trek: Online isn't the only Space Game that will be paying tribute to him with some form of memorial.

Allow's endeavor and remember Leonard Nimoy when nosotros are flying around in our virtual Spaceships

Over at the Elite: Dangerous forums Executive producer Micheal Brookes announced to the customs that the planet Vulcan in system LHS-3006 will be getting a new space station added, fittingly named "Nimoy Station". Players take asked that "Live Long And Prosper" would be inscribed above the docking bay. The station will be added in with patch one.2, the Wings update which heavily features Co-op play.

Over on the other side of the galaxy at the Star Citizen forums Community manager Ben Lesnick responded to a thread which had a petition to memorialize Nimoy afterwards his passing.

"Hey guys,

No petition necessary. I call up it's prophylactic to say that Mr. Nimoy was an inspiration to all of us on the squad, both acting as Spock and because of his core, kind humanity. We will find an advisable way to honor him.

I'm a big guy, but I'1000 not too big to acknowledge I broke down sobbing when I heard the news. Nimoy as Spock shaped so much; even if you weren't a Star Trek fan, he was an essential part of the culture. And if you were a Star Trek fan, you surely saw yourself in common cold logic masking deep passions, or his romantic platonic of the loyal best friend. And it was all the more impressive that the human being behind the character was such a proficient person. I know he had a good, long life, and one truly lived... only the world still seems a piffling darker this afternoon."

I felt pretty much the same affair as Ben Lesnick did when I heard the news, in that location is no word on what kind of tribute they have in heed, but I am certain they have something quite fitting in mind. Concluding year when Oculus Rift co-founder Andrew Reiss passed away, there were talks of inserting him every bit the inventor of the first combat-simulation (VR) applied science in Star Denizen's lore. Now I call up information technology's but logical to watch some more Star Expedition, Alive Long and Prosper!
